Compulsory Purchase & Compensation

Compulsory Purchase & Compensation

Compulsory Purchase is a power that acquiring authorities have to purchase land to carry out a function which parliament has decided is in the public interest.  Such functions could include road, pipeline, utility and development schemes.

Objections can be made but must be within the specified timescale.  This could lead to a hearing or public enquiry.  Very often the authority are willing to negotiate so it is sensible to have an agent act on your behalf regarding negotiations.

If you are approached by an authority who wishes to gain access on to your land please feel free to contact us at the office, if the scheme goes ahead we will charge all our costs to the authority.

  • Water, gas and sewerage pipeline compensation
  • Telecommunication masts
  • Wayleave agreements of B.T. equipment
  • Water main bursts
  • New road schemes
